The minimal consumer basket in May 2026 stands at MKD 68,743 (EUR 1,115), down by MKD 54 over the one in April when it stood at MKD 68,797 (EUR 1,116), the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) said on Wednesday.
Including a rented 60 square meter apartment, the SSM basket adds up to MKD 84,117 in May.
This month, according to the SSM calculations, MKD 25,475 are needed for food and beverages, MKD 7,192 for education, MKD 6,334 for clothing and footwear, MKD 6,338 for rent, water, electricity and heating bills, MKD 5,041 for transportation, etc.
