VMRO-DPMNE MP Bojan Stojanosk compared in social media post the economic results in the first eight full quarters of SDSM and DUI-led government and the current government led by VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition, pointing out that the numbers show a difference in the average growth and stability of the economy.
“Let’s make a comparison! In politics, especially in the economy, comparison must exist. Comparing the numbers is a serious indicator of whether economic policy is producing results or needs improvements,” Stojanoski said.
The MP pointed out that in the first eight full quarters after SDSM and DUI came to power, the average real GDP growth was around 2.6 percent, while in the first eight full quarters of the current government led by VMRO-DPMNE, the average growth was around 3.55 percent.
According to Stojanovski, this represents almost one percentage point higher average growth, or approximately 37 percent higher average pace of economic growth.
“But the difference is not only in the average. Even more important is the stability and continuity of growth,” Stojanovski noted.
The ruling party representative adds that in the first three full quarters of the SDSM and DUI-led government, economic growth was below one percent, while in the current period Macedonia has had eight consecutive quarters with real growth of at least three percent. As Stojanovski points out, the growth rates from the third quarter of 2024 to the second quarter of 2026 are 3.0, 3.2, 3.0, 3.4, 3.8, 3.8, 3.1 and 4.3 percent.
“This has never happened in the history of the Republic of Macedonia. And the latest data further confirms the positive dynamics: in the second quarter of 2026, real GDP growth reached 4.3 percent,” said Stojanoski and concluded that the figures, in his opinion, show “higher growth, more stable growth and continuity of the positive economic trend.”
