Macedonian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Cvetan Tripunovski told TV Star that the loudest reactions to the new program are from those who do not participate in the agricultural process and feel threatened that they will be eliminated from the subsidy system.
“I keep an eye on the reactions and I can say with certainty that the loudest are those who do not participate in the agricultural process and feel threatened that they will be eliminated from the new Program. They are much louder than those who work seriously and dedicatedly on their land and produce agricultural products,” the minister pointed out.
According to the minister, the data from the analysis were worrying, which is why it was decided to introduce innovations that will ensure that the funds provided by the state will end up with real farmers.
“I call every farmer who works seriously and dedicatedly and produces agricultural products a real farmer. All those who want to improvise or circumvent the process are so-called subsidy hunters,” added Minister Tripunovski.
He noted that the new additions in the program will establish order in the entire sector.
“If from 2007 to last year over EUR 1.8 billion have been distributed in the form of subsidies, and today the situation is almost similar or the same as in previous years, it is inevitable that we need to make changes,” said Minister Tripunovski.
