President of the European Football Association (UEFA) Alexander Čeferin came for an official visit to the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) at the invitation of the head of Macedonian football Masar Omeragikj.
“The visit represents another confirmation of the excellent relations between FFM and UEFA, both on an institutional and personal level,” reads the FFM press release.
“FFM is highly valued within the European football family, and the presence of Aleksandar Čeferin additionally emphasizes the support for the development processes in Macedonian football,” reads the statement from the “House of Football” .
Along with the head of European football, the delegation also includes Zoran Laković, Director of the UEFA National Associations, as well as Denis Bastari, Head of the UEFA National Association Development.
According to the agenda, Aleksandar Čeferin will be welcomed by Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and Minister of Sports Borko Ristovski, followed by a meeting at the “House of Football”.
The focus of the talks is on future directions for the promotion of football in Macedonia, from the implementation of significant infrastructure projects to additional development and support for youth categories.
“Aleksandar Čeferin is considered a great friend of Macedonian football, and his visit is a clear confirmation of the efforts of the FFM and president Omeragikj in the continuous development and affirmation of football in the country. In addition, the visit is expected to contribute to the deepening of cooperation through new concrete projects and initiatives under the auspices of UEFA, in order to create better conditions for the development of football at all levels,” the reads the press release.
