36-year-old United States national R.S. was arrested at two hours after midnight due to an incident at the toll booth at Demir Kapija, fleeing and threatening and physically assaulting police officers.
According to eyewitnesses, a Skoda passenger vehicle with Skopje license plates was stopped for a regular traffic control, during which the driver showed his registration and driver’s license, but refused to provide his personal identification documents.
When the police asked for additional documents, the situation escalated, and the U.S. national attempted to assault the police officers. The police immediately intervened and detained the suspect. The public prosecutor has been notified of the case, and after completing all documents, an appropriate report will be filed to court.
