The ruling VMRO-DPMNE released a statement Wednesday in which it makes a series of accusations against the opposition SDSM, claiming that the party is moving away from the interests of citizens and is connecting with political structures outside the country.

According to the ruling party, SDSM Secretary General Aleksandar Sasha Dimitrijevikj met with Serbian politician Branko Ružić, Serbia’s former Minister of Education. VMRO-DPMNE claims that the purpose of the meeting was the formation of an opposition front and joint political cooperation.

The press release states that Ružić, who is associated with the Socialist Party of Serbia, has been in conflict with the party leadership in the past, but has reactivated on the political scene with opposition positions.

VMRO-DPMNE is asking Dimitrijevikj several questions, seeking explanation on whether other senior political officials attended the meeting, as well as details about its organization and purpose. Additionally, the party is making specific claims related to the manner in which Ružić arrived in Skopje, for which it is seeking official confirmation or denial.
