VMRO-DPMNE is ready to discuss amendments to the Electoral Code, but SDSM, Levica and DUI should first align their positions with each other, said VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Valentin Manasievski on Wednesday.
The ruling party representative accused the opposition parties of sending different messages to the public and that there is political confusion over the new Electoral Code.
“SDS, Levica and DUI should first agree with each other what they want from the Electoral Code, and VMRO-DPMNE will accept everything they ask for, as long as the diaspora votes electronically or by mail,” said Manasievski.
According to the spokesperson, the same proposals cannot be the subject of an agreement one day and blocked the next.
“They cannot put forward different theses in public and negotiate completely different issues behind closed doors,” Manasievski said.
The ruling party spokesperson pointed out that the parties should align their positions on issues such as one electoral unit, the model of financing election campaigns, the method of resolving complaints, as well as the model for diaspora voting.
