The PehchevoVoluntary Fire Fighting Association successfully intervened in a fire on Friday that broke out in the immediate vicinity of the village of Crnik. The fire engulfed dry grass and low vegetation, which, due to the dry weather and increased temperatures, posed a serious danger of its uncontrolled spread.
“With a swift and timely reaction, our teams went to the field and in a short time localized and brought the fire under full control. Thanks to the professional approach and good coordination, the fire was prevented from spreading to the nearby block with fruit orchards, where plum orchards are located, thus avoiding significant material damage,” the Pehchevo Voluntary Fire Fighting Association informed in a press release.
The firefighters warn that such fires are most often the result of human carelessness and appeal to citizens to be especially careful when staying and working in open spaces, emphasizing that burning stubble, waste or dry vegetation poses a serious risk, especially in the summer.
The Pehchevoassociation calls for responsible behavior and timely reporting of any fire, in order to prevent major consequences and preserve the safety of citizens and nature.
