Macedonia’s former Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has issued a reaction to the ruling VMRO-DPMNE’s accusations and is demanding a public apology from MP Brane Petrushevski for what he calls the lies, slander and misuse of his name in a “staged drama” surrounding the confiscation of tens of tons of medical cannabis, due to alleged improper storage and handling.
Zaev says in a social media post that all the accusations the ruling party has made against him over the past five years, i.e. since he stepped down from the helm of SDSM, are false.
“It is a shameless lie that I am in any way connected to the cannabis cases that were presented to the public. It is a shameless and impudent lie that I have reported to the Customs Administration. And without any shame, their other lies about me, which they have repeated almost daily since I retired from politics, and especially in these almost two years that they have been in power, are equally disgusting, such as the one that I am building some 40-story skyscrapers in Dubai, that I am exerting pressure to buy Dr. Zhan Mitrev’s hospital, that I am interfering in the work of judicial and other institutions, as well as a series of other fabrications and constructions,” said Zaev.
Zaev demands an apology within the legal deadline and announces a lawsuit against Petrusevski and VMRO-DPMNE, and says that he will fight with all legal means to remove this stain from his name.
