After the extradition from Turkey of murder suspect Ljupcho Palevski-Palcho, the public prosecutor with the Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office continues to take investigative actions in the case of the abduction and murder of Vanja Gjorchevska and Panche Zhezhovski.
On the basis of an international warrant issued by order of the Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Republic of Turkey on Wednesday extradited the prime suspect for the crimes. At the request of the public prosecutor, a measure of detention has already been determined for him, which began to be applied immediately. In relation to this person, the public prosecutor undertakes investigative actions to obtain and analyze evidence that cannot be shared with the public at this stage of the procedure.
Palevski, who was arrested last year on December 6 in Balikesir, Turkey, was taken to the Shutka Investigation Prison Wednesday night with a convoy of five Interpol vehicles. In prison, he is under a special security regime, without contact with other detainees.
Palevski is suspected of murdering the 14-year-old Vanja and retiree Panche from Veles, who were reported missing on November 27 and 24, 2023, and found dead near Veles and Skopje on December 3.
