A 35-year-old Macedonian national was killed in a car accident near a Belgrade
highway junction in the direction of Dobanovci when a car and truck with a police
escort collided, the Interior Ministry said.
The accident was caused by a truck traveling in a convoy, but the cause of the
crash will be investigated, the Serbian Interior Ministry said.
The crash involved four convoy vehicles, including a driver from Poland who is
suspected to have caused the accident. He is being held for up to 48 hours.
Trucks that transit through Serbia have police escort to prevent the spread of
coronavirus and they should not stop where they want, but only at places designated
for that purpose.
