The state should seize the first opportunity to hold the elections because, if the experts in the world predict a second coronavirus wave, who knows when the second opportunity will be, SDSM leader Zoran Zaev said on Slobodna TV’s “Utrinski brifing”.
Zaev addressed several issues related to the Parliament, the opposition, health and economic measures.
“Macedonia has stopped the election activities and today all election processes are frozen. There is nothing more important than the health of the citizens. But we should all be aware in conditions when there is no Parliament and there are delayed elections, the credibility of the government must be supported by the trust of the citizens. Luckily, the coronacrisis numbers are declining and we need to keep a close eye on them. But we need to seize the first opportunity for elections because we do not know when there will be a second chance. The world is saying that there may be a new wave in the fall. If that happens, we will break through all the constitutional deadlines from the transferred competencies,” Zaev said, answering questions related to the date of the elections and the political dialogue.
