The state of emergency declared by President Stevo Pendarovski on April 16
expires on Saturday. For now, the question remains whether there will be a new
extension.
Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski said yesterday that the Government has not yet
made a decision on whether to request the state of emergency in the country to
continue in the coming period. He said analyzes and assessments were being made
based on his health condition.
– I urge that we wait a day or two, when the Government will meet and assess
whether we will need a new state of emergency and how long it would last, says
Spasovski.
If a decision to extend the state of emergency is made and the government submits
a proposal, the Security Council is due to convene a new session on Friday to
decide whether to extend it.
