July 15th is the last concession made by SDSM, party leader Zoran Zaev said on Monday, and the postponed April early parliamentary elections would be held on this new date, with the consent of VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski to confirm this date which the two had previously agreed in a telephone conversation today.

“We must save our country and our people from any risk of further aggravation of the situation. The state will not be able to withstand a greater crisis than this without the Parliament and the Government. I know that the citizens are overwhelmed by the election date. SDSM and I are taking a step to end this nervous game immediately. In order for the people not to suffer, we conclude July 15th as the final and last date on which the opposition will be guaranteed to participate”, said Zaev at the press conference.

President Stevo Pendarovski will be asked to declare another state of emergency, but only for the purpose of the elections.
Zaev  said the opposition leader has agreed on July 15 as the election date, with the homebound, infirm and aged to vote two days earlier, including those infected with the coronavirus.
