Dr. Arifikmet Deari, urologist from Tetovo, who was hospitalized due to neurological problems, but was also positive for COVID-19, died at the age of 64 in the Skopje “September 8” General Hospital.
After 15 days of hospital treatment, he lost the battle against the virus, informed Minister of Health Venko Filipce on Facebook.
“Dr. Deari, who was only a few months away from retirement, was the first doctor to die from complications due to the coronavirus. I express my regret and deep condolences to his family. I appeal to my fellow healthcare workers to be protected and take care, in the workplace in accordance with the protocols, but also outside of it. I also urge the citizens to respect the measures, to protect themselves, the healthcare workers and all their fellow citizens,” said Minister Filipce.
