16-year-old boy drowns in Lake Prespa, rescue teams search for his remains

The person who tragically lost his life drowning in the waters of Lake Prespa on Sunday afternoon, has been identified as a sixteen-year-old boy from Resen, the Ministry of Interior informs.

The Resen police was informed about 18.20 Sunday by the Emergency Medical Service that in the tourist settlement-Pretor, in the waters of Lake Prespa, the person IM, born in 2004 in Resen, has disappeared.

The incident happened after three young people went sailing on a pedal boat. For unknown reasons, the pedal boat overturned. Two of the boys swam to the lakeshore, and one of the children never came out of the water.

Diving teams from Ohrid are still searching for the remains of the 16-year-old boy.
