Interim Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski on Monday handed over the Prime Minister post to his party leader Zoran Zaev, who was elected Prime Minister on Sunday with 62 votes in favor and 51 against.

“At today’s handover of the Prime Minister post, I wished Prime Minister Zoran Zaev a successful 4-year term of the new Government, in which together we will strive to achieve the priorities for which we received the trust of the citizens: secure future, protection of public health, new development economics, justice, European perspectives. I had the honor and great responsibility to lead the Government in a specific time, in which we together agreed that the transitional Government successfully responded to the challenges. We continue to work together in the new government, for the public interests and for the good of the country, each of us according to the entrusted duties,” Spasovski wrote on Facebook.

Spasovski returned to his previous post as Minister of Interior.
