Analyzes by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy show that around 6,000 employees will reach the acquired age for retirement, i.e. 64 years of age by the end of the year. However, as explained by Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jagoda Shahpaska, this does not mean that according to the proposed legal changes they will all retire, because some of them have already requested a request for extension of employment.

Shahpanska explained that in the Parliament, MPs of the ruling SDSM in coordination with the ministry submitted amendments to the Law on Labor Relations which provide for termination of employment contracts with 64 years of age and 15 years of retirement, unless otherwise regulated by another law.
