Skopje marks Liberation Day on Friday, November 13. On November 13, 1944, the fighters of the 42nd and 50th division of the National Liberation Army and the 16. Macedonian brigade liberated Skopje from fascist rule.

After days of fierce and steady combat against the German 22nd Infantry Division and the Angermiler Brigade, the fighters victoriously marched in the city.
