Microbiologist Nikola Panovski accused private hospitals of “war profiteering” in a TV24 show.
Panovski believes that in a state of crisis, the state should not have allowed private hospitals to profit on the backs of citizens, but all to work together under the health fund.
He says that the fight against the epidemic cannot be conducted with the citizens’ personal funds.
“There is probably some interest in allowing that. I do not know why the medical staff would be allowed to work with danger, to say that it is their job. It is their job to decide on the treatment of a person’s personal illness. This is an epidemic, a pandemic, this is a general thing, so no one should be allowed to work with those prices during a pandemic,” said Panovski.
