Macedonia is unlikely to start vaccination earlier than May or June, says Taravari

Opposition parties in Macedonia say delays in the vaccine supply process show the incompetence of government officials.

“I think that we as a country are stuck in the agreements made with the companies that produce vaccines, and also in connection with the COVAX program, Arben Taravari from the opposition Alliance for Albanians-Alternativa coalition told Radio Free Europe.

Taravari, who previously headed the Health Ministry, is skeptical that Macedonia could launch a mass vaccination campaign earlier than May or June.

“It would be good for citizens to have more options, to have the Chinese vaccines, but also the vaccines of the other two companies, and then let the people choose what they think is best,” Taravari stressed.
