In order to meet the needs of Macedonian nationals abroad whose passports have expired or their validity expires this year, legal changes will be made so that the validity of these travel documents will be extended until the end of the year, announced Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani on Friday.
He stressed that our diplomats with mobile teams take photos of Macedonian nationals living abroad to issue them new passports, which has so far issued over 7,000 travel documents, but that there is a problem with Macedonian citizens with expired passports in China.
“If the mobile teams go to China to take photos of our 12 citizens, they will have to be in quarantine for 30 days. Therefore, we found another solution, the Ministry of Interior to extend the validity of passports until the end of the year by amending the law, so that citizens can use current passports with expired dates,” said Osmani.
