The government is enforcing a curfew and restricting movement, and in just twenty days it will let thousands of enumerators go to the homes of the citizens, says VMRO-DPMNE.
The party points out that Prime Minister ZoranZaev is not interested in the health or the life of the people.
“Zaev is only interested in political benefits, and in this sense the realization of the political agreement. Organizing a census in the midst of a pandemic will result in thousands of new cases and hundreds of dead,” warns VMRO-DPMNE.
The opposition party also warns that the people who will conduct the population census directly on the ground without immunization pose a major threat to the citizens’ health.
“Zaev is about to send unvaccinated enumerators and thus threatens to make the largest coronavirus cluster so far. A pandemic census is a surefire way for an entire country to get COVID-19. It is unconscionable and shameful that Zaev continues with the intentions to organize a census, not only despite the arguments of the professional public and citizens, but also after the postponement of the censuses in Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Ireland, Germany and other countries,” the party said in a statement.
