15 dead, 868 new COVID-19 cases


Macedonia at the moment registers 10,872 active COVID-19 cases after 868 new infections were reported in the past 24 hours. In the same time period, 355 recoveries and 15 fatalities were recorded, the Health Ministry said Friday.

According to the Public Health Institute, most of the new cases were registered in Skopje (424) after 3,654 tests were carried out. The rest were registered in 31 cities and towns across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 15 patients died of coronavirus-related complications, including patients in Skopje, Tetovo, Ohrid, Prilep, Kumanovo, Shtip, Kavadarci, Bitola and Negotino. Most of them were in their 60s, 70s, and 80s.

So far, a total of 559,021 tests have been conducted in the country.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, N. Macedonia has registered 111,077 confirmed coronavirus cases, 96,925 people have recovered. The death toll increased to 3,280.
