Head of the Institute for European Policy Simonida Kacarska spoke on TV Sitel’s news about who was to blame for Macedonia not receiving help from the EU Solidarity Fund, stressed that Macedonia must plan better and in advance to be able to use the EU Solidarity Fund.

“Ever since we set up the Solidarity Fund last year, it has been clear that the challenge is what eligible costs are for the EU and how countries will report them. It is a Fund established for major crises. If we go back we will see that it was used by Serbia during the floods. In our case, it is obvious that the spending threshold that the Commission officially confirmed today, which is around 30 million euros for our gross domestic product, has not been reached, “said Kacarska.
