VMRO-DPMNE is considering withdrawing amendments to the Citizenship Law, expecting the Alliance for Albanians and Alternative to unblock the fifth set of economic measures. The decision on these laws in that case would completely depend on SDSM and other parliamentary parties, briefed VMRO-DPMNE.
This was already announced by the leader of VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski after the tete-a-tete meeting with Prime Minister and leader of SDSM Zoran Zaev held recently.
The fifth package of economic measures, as well as other laws have been stuck in the Parliament for quite a while with thousands of amendments submitted by the coalition Alliance for Albanians and Alternativa. AA-A remained of the opinion that they will unblock the work of the Assembly, i.e. they will withdraw the amendments only if a solution is found for the Law on Citizenship.
