VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said Wednesday that neither he nor VMRO-DPMNE will recognize the numbers of the registered non-resident population.

“My position is that the diaspora should be part of the census, because if you read the Law Article 8 paragraphs 2 and 3 clearly states which part of the persons who at the time of conducting the census operation are not in Macedonia, but are outside Macedonia, i.e. with temporary residence, and temporary residence clearly means that they did not cancel their residence. All persons who have been registered in Macedonia for more than 12 months cannot enter the total number of resident population together with me, and I and VMRO-DPMNE will not recognize those numbers. And there is no force that will make me go against the standards of Eurostat,” said Mickoski.

He pointed out that all those who are abroad while the census is being conducted, and have not checked out their place of residence in the past 12 months, can use the online application, the rest should not.

“And I do not care whether my gross domestic product that I will share with you of 11 billion euros to the resident population that achieves that number or I will share it with the register of citizens who create gross domestic product in the countries where they live . I will not accept that. It is a forgery. Those people who have registered their place of residence in Macedonia will be listed in the country where they are located, and not here. Those people cannot be counted twice. No matter how much the politicians want to try, few, who are part of the Albanian parties to abuse the feelings of the Albanians, will not succeed,” said Mickoski.
