17 patients have died, 87 new COVID-19 cases

Out 2,953 COVID-19 tests carried out in N. Macedonia in the past 24 hours, 87 new cases were registered, 197 patients recovered and 17 died, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Most of the new cases were registered in Skopje – 26, Radovish – 9, Kumanovo – 6, Kratovo – 6, Prilep – 5, Bitola – 4, Strumica – 4, Kochani – 4, Kichevo – 4, Negotino – 3, Delchevo – 3, Tetovo – 2, Gostivar – 2, Ohrid – 2, Struga – 2, Sveti Nikole – 2, Kavadarci – 1, Shtip – 1, and Kriva Palanka – 1.

The Public Health Institute registered 197 recovered patients from all over the country, the press release reads.

Seventeen people died between the ages of 47 and 81, including five from Skopje, three from Tetovo, two from Kumanovo, and one each from Prilep, Shtip, Kichevo, Strumica, Gostivar, Resen, and Bogdanci.

Since the onset of the epidemic, Macedonia has registered 154,891 confirmed coronavirus cases, while 146,499 patients have recovered. Death toll has reached 5,249. At the moment, there are 3,143 active cases across the country.
