Despite the fact that young people are most threatened by the Delta variant of the coronavirus in the country, the vaccination of this category of citizens is weak.

According to the Ministry of Health, only 26 percent of young people aged 18 to 39 have been vaccinated with at least one dose. In contrast, in the older population the percentages are higher. As many as 51 percent of the population over the age of 40 have had at least one dose of the vaccine.

The Ministry of Health appeals to young people to get vaccinated to protect their own health and the health of others.

Research worldwide and in Europe shows that the unvaccinated are at greater risk of both infection and the development of severe forms of the disease.

A total of 703,557 citizens have been vaccinated in the country so far. 7,625 citizens received the first dose of vaccine yesterday, and yesterday a total of 11,883 citizens were vaccinated. A total of 1,220,375 doses of vaccines were applied in the country, and 516,797 citizens were revaccinated.
