Prime Minister Zoran Zaev appealed to citizens to cooperate with census takers during the 2021 Population and Housing Census that started earlier today so they could gather important data in the first national head count in almost two decades.

“After 20 years, our country will finally obtain relevant and current information that will be the basis for creating realistic policies that fully meet the citizens’ needs,” PM Zaev said in a Facebook post.

For the statistical operation to be successful, the state statisticians and the outsourced census takers need the cooperation of all citizens, he added.

“That’s why I call on you to be a partner in this process, because only this way can the Government, public institutions, local government and the business community be able to provide a better life for all citizens of N. Macedonia,” Zaev wrote.
