13,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines donated by Bulgaria withdrawn due to expiration date

COVID-19 vaccines that were donated by Bulgaria will be disposed of as medical waste, informed the Ministry of Health.

“A total of 13,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines which were donated by Bulgaria to our country have been withdrawn after they are past the expiration date. According to the law, the vaccines will be disposed of as medical waste,” said the Ministry.

Bulgaria’s donation consisting of 51,480 Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines arrived in the country on September 16. Their expiration date was September 30.
