A group of 27 citizens from Afghanistan and their families, who have been temporarily accommodated in North Macedonia, departed for Dublin from the Skopje International Airport on Tuesday morning.
“These citizens worked for democratic institutions and international NGOs in Afghanistan, who were threatened by the new Taliban regime. NGOs have completely covered the costs,” the government said Tuesday.
A total of 442 Afghan citizens are currently staying in N. Macedonia, including women and children from the families of those working in humanitarian, democratic and peacemaking international missions, activists from human rights organizations, translators, students and scholarship holders.
