In the period between August 6 and October 28, a total of 45,621 people tested positive for COVID-19. Of those, 12,375 (27%) were fully vaccinated, Ministry of Health’s analysis released on Friday shows.

According to statistics, 33,246 people (73%) of those who tested positive for COVID-19 were unvaccinated, shows the analysis.

People who have received two doses, with more than 14 days having passed since their second shot, are considered fully vaccinated, the Ministry of Health says.

75% of hospitalizations are also unvaccinated people, while only 25% of all hospitalized patients at the moment are fully vaccinated.

The analysis shows that death rate among unvaccinated people is drastically high. In the period Aug. 6-Oct. 28, a total of 1,592 people died in the country of Covid complications. Of those, 1,310 patients (82%) were not vaccinated and only 18% (282) had received two doses of the vaccine.

According to the analysis, the people who died from COVID-19 had several medical conditions. The patients had received all types of vaccines available in the country.

“All the vaccines we have provided are safe. We urge the citizens to get vaccinated, it is the only way to create herd immunity and stop the spread of SARS-CoV-2 mutations,” says the Ministry of Health.
