Macedonia is facing electricity shortages. On November 9, the Government of Macedonia declared a state of crisis in the energy sector for 30 days at the request of the Commission for Monitoring the Situation of Electricity Supply established by the Ministry of Economy.
Instead of planning to procure several months in advance with a fixed price and medium term, ESM today again bought energy for 17.11 and 18.11.2021.
It is important to emphasize that Macedonia at this pace, buying electricity from day to day pays the current stock market price or even more expensive.
If the state continues to supply electricity each day, the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia starting January 2022 will face too high electricity prices.
