449 new COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths, youngest casualty was 33 years old

Of the 3,859 people tested for the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, 449 were diagnosed with COVID-19, and 12 people, aged 33 to 89, died from COVID-related complications, the Ministry of Health said in a press release on Saturday.

In the past 24 hours, 317 people recovered from the virus and 12 people died from coronavirus-related complications.

Four people died in Skopje (aged 69, 76, 81 and 89), two people died in Prilep (aged 65 and 82), and one person died in Tetovo (aged 74), Bitola (aged 72), Ohrid (aged 33), Vinica (aged 66), and in Demir Hisar (aged 81). One person died in Kavadarci at home on Nov. 16, and their death was added to today’s tally. All of the others died in hospital.

“The 33-year-old was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was not taking adequate treatment. They were admitted to hospital in serious condition,” the Ministry of Health’s press release says.

At the moment, there are 8,472 active cases nationwide, of which 3,862 in Skopje.

Since the onset of the epidemic, N. Macedonia has performed a total of 1,446,403 tests, recording 211,831 COVID-19 cases and 195,941 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,418.
