The country will not receive a date for negotiations with the EU in December, nor in the first half of 2022, claims VMRO-DPMNE MP Antonio Miloshoski, after talking with European delegates on the sidelines of the Transatlantic Security Conference in Washington DC.

“Judging by the talks with my interlocutors, the conclusion emerges that this December, Macedonia will not receive a date for the start of accession negotiations with the EU. The same unfavorable outcome is expected in the period January-July 2022. Albania, meanwhile, is making diplomatic efforts to secede from the package with Macedonia to increase its chances of a negotiating date on its own, but it is still uncertain whether this option will persuade all EU members to make a unanimous decision on the desired step of Tirana to Brussels,” Former Foreign Minister Miloshoski wrote on Facebook.

“I discussed topics of bilateral interest, as well as discussions in Brussels related to the European integration process,” Milososkiadded.
