KirilPetkov, co-leader of Bulgarian political party ‘We Continue the Change’, says in an interview with German magazine Der Spiegel that Skopje and Sofia have to set up working groups that will negotiate for a period of six months, so that nationalists are not the only ones to have a say.

“Why aren’t there flights between Sofia and Skopje? Let’s talk more about economy than different interpretations of the joint history,” says Petkov.

He says that if the accession negotiations are “green lighted” now, without discussion, it will only strengthen nationalists on both sides.

“We rely on talks not propaganda,” notes Petkov.
