8 percent fewer COVID-19 infections in the past week

The Institute of Public Health (IPH) recorded an eight percent decrease in the number of new COVID-19 infections last week compared to the week before, in its weekly report on the coronavirus epidemic in the country.

Between December 13th and 19th, 1,922 people were diagnosed with COVID-19, 19,943 people were tested for the virus, a8.1 percent increase than the previous week. The percentage of positivity ranges from 6.9 to 12.4 percent, and an average of 9.6 percent.

Most new cases are in Skopje. There is a decrease in the number of infected persons in all age groups, and the most common are persons over 60 years (22.8%). The least cases are registered in the age group 0-9 years (3.5%).
