No new trial for “Divo Naselje” – the Supreme Court upholds verdict

The “Divo Naselje” case will not have a retrial, as the Supreme Court has decided to uphold the appellate verdict, Fokus.mk reports.

According to the media, the verdict of the Supreme Court states that the appeals of the defendants are rejected as unfounded.

According to the final verdict, most of the defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment, for the terrorist attack in Kumanovo’s Divo Naselje, 13 defendants were sentenced to 40 years in prison, 20 defendants to five years, two defendants to two years less, and two defendants to 14, 13 and 12 years in prison.

Four of the defendants were acquitted because the Prosecution did not provide enough evidence.

Eight members of the Ministry of Interior were killed and forty were injured in the terrorist attack in Kumanovo in 2015.
