The director of the Children’s Clinic prof. Dr. AspazijaSofijanova in the news on TV24 revealed that ten days ago a six-month-old infant was the youngest patient ever registered as COVID-19 positive.
The infant was brought in an extremely serious condition, and the coronavirus was detected during the observance of the protocols and the performed PCR test.
“After all the protocols, the child ended up on ventilator. He needed surgery, but is already at home. Because we examine everything, we have determined that. We put the team together, the child is now negative and is at home. Even on mechanical ventilation, we managed to save him,” Sofijanova said.
