Mickoski: There must be higher salaries for everyone

Macedonia is among the 4 poorest countries in Europe, in addition to being among the three most corrupt, most criminal countries in Europe. The consumer basket of basic food and other products in December amounted to 35,042 denars, and this amount is constantly increasing. The problem is not only the minimum wages, but the low wages that more and more people receive, said the leader of VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski on Thursday.

Mickoski stressed that the parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE will propose an amendment to the law on minimum wage which will increase wages in the public sector.

“We demand that the amount of the coefficients and the value of the point of the collective agreements at all levels and in all areas be harmonized with the increase of the minimum wage with gradual increase of wages, where the basic value of the lowest coefficient and point is equal to the amount of the minimum wage. And what is the situation now and what we propose you can see on the slide shown here. A simulation is given as it is in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. These are the points in the kindergartens, there are also the coefficients of complexity of the workplace in the primary schools and something similar is in the secondary schools,” said party leader Mickoski.
