Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani stated Tuesday at a briefing that North Macedonia will not send the new ambassador of the country to Russia, who was supposed to leave on March 15.

This decision of Foreign Minister Osmani is political and is not related to the appeal of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs to all citizens of Macedonia who are in Russia to return, because it may happen that they will not be able to do so soon, due to flight bans in Russia.

Several countries have begun expelling Russian diplomats and banning Russian propaganda media. The Russian embassy in the country is very active on social media with justifications for the “special operation” in Ukraine.

“We will make all those decisions in coordination with the partners. If anyone meets with the Russian ambassador, it will only be for the sake of demarche,” Osmani said.
