GDP growth of 2.3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2021

Gross domestic product (GDP) in the fourth quarter of 2021 grew by 2.3 percent, and according to the State Statistical Office, in the same period exports of goods and services increased by 9.7 percent in nominal terms, while imports of goods and services increased in nominal terms by 22.6 percent.

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the fourth quarter of 2021, the largest increase was registered in the sectors E, F and Z – Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; Transport and storage; Accommodation and food service facilities by 9.2 percent; Ѕ – Information and communications from 5.3; as well as J – Activities related to real estate of 3.1 percent. Final consumption of households, including non-profit institutions serving households, in the fourth quarter of 2021, nominally increased by 10.2 percent, and its share in the structure of gross domestic product was 62.5 percent.

GDP growth in the first quarter of last year was – 1.9 percent, in the second 13.1 percent, and in the third three percent.
