The Government led by SDSM and DUI puts the Macedonian people in a subordinate position and thus directly touches on the issues of identity, the Macedonian language and history, says opposition VMRO-DPMNE.
The opposition party points out that the acceptance by the historical commission in Macedonian textbooks to present the different perceptions of a certain event in that country or for a certain person, opens the door for negative positions towards the distinction of Macedonian identity to enter directly into the educational process.
“This only shows that defeats are an everyday thing with this Government. The fact that the Bulgarian side declares success, and our government stays silent, speaks volumes about what solutions are being prepared in the completely non-transparent process. We warn again that neither the citizens nor the MPs are even fully informed about what has been agreed by the joint historical commission and what progress Bulgaria has declared a success. The secret agreements only open suspicions that a new sale is being agreed behind closed doors, not only on Tsar Samoil, but also on the entire history, language and identity,” says VMRO-DPMNE.
