Thirty police officers from the “Blace” border crossing are under investigation by the internal control in the Ministry of Interior, on suspicion of intentionally damaging the surveillancecameras attached to their uniforms, Alsat TVreports.

According to police sources quoted by Alsat TV, the motive for breaking the cameras is suspected to be the removal of evidence from situations when police officers abused their official position. Police have launched several investigations to prove the responsibility and deliberate destruction of the cameras. There are no criminal charges so far.

“Internal control is working on this case. One camera and 12 camera chargers were found to be broken. A disciplinary measure was imposed on 30 people, and a procedure for material damage is applied. Other measures are being taken for sanctions,” the Ministry of Interior told Alsat TV.
