The United States supports the rapid integration of RS Macedonia into the EU, and, as NATO allies, the two countries will work on joint projects that are of great importance for enhancing cooperation. This was concluded at the meeting of Minister of Finance Fatmir Besimi with the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia Brian McCauley, the Advisor to the US Treasury Secretary Brent Niemann and William Larry MacDonald the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Technical Support at the Treasury.
At the same time, the United States, through the Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury (OTA), will offer technical assistance in strengthening public financial management, efficiency, transparency, accountability of public finances, according to the Ministry of Finance.
