If the beaches in Ohrid remain unregulated for two seasons consequently, it will be catastrophic for tourism. Ohrid Mayor Kiril Pecakov warned about this, Alsat TV reports. He says that for now the situation is at a status quo, although the summer and the tourist season are on the doorstep.
“Beaches are definitely one of the biggest problems. If we leave more unregulated beaches in the same way this summer, next year we may not be in the focus of many tourists,” Pecakov said. The mayor blames state institutions at the central level for preparing a plan to manage the Ohrid coast.
The Ministry of Transport says that the preparation of the urban plan in the protected area of the lake is in process.
