The President of the Trade Union for Education, Science and Culture (SONK) Jakim Nedelkov assessed Thursday’s protest of part of the membership as an attempt to weaken the positions of the union.

According to Nedelkov, the educators who gathered yesterday to protest in front of the SONK headquarters are probably manipulated or uninformed.

– Such unidentified gatherings where we do not know who is the organizer, nor what is the goal, do not lead to anything and probably it is a good attempt to weaken the positions of SONK, breaking the unity of SONK, which at the end of the day will be a wish for anyone bothers SONK to be the only and strongest union in the country. “This is where we should start – what is the purpose of such fierce reactions,” Nedelkov told a news conference on Friday.

The union leader announced that such gatherings would not deter him from working according to the law and advocating for workers’ rights.
