Rising copper prices are a key cause of frequent theft. We have private companies that buy different types of metals, including copper. Old vehicles, waste electrical and electronic equipment, destructive material and other types of waste are purchased. After processing, secondary products are made – raw materials of steel, copper brass, iron or aluminum.
The example of the fact that copper was stolen from a substation under the jurisdiction of the police station for border surveillance “Chaska” shows how far the uncontrolled “mission” of such “increasingly popular” thefts has gone. And, to add to the irony, unconfirmed information indicates that the theft was committed by police officers.
