This year marks and marks 60 years since the foundation of the study of Macedonian studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Ljubljana – an extremely important jubilee for the Macedonian language, literature and culture, given the importance of their presence at major university centers outside our country.
In the past twenty years, the department is led by prof. Dr. Namita Subioto.
Today, the University of Ljubljana is one of the university centers in this part of Europe where there is the greatest interest in Macedonian studies, not only historiographically, but also for the most current topics and issues in Macedonian linguistics, literature and culture, as evidenced by numerous scientific works, but also literary translations.
